ASME B16.9 steel pipe tee is T-shaped Y-shaped with three outlets in same different size named as equal tee reducing tee, the connecting ends are in same sizes, it is equal tee, while brach size is smaller than run pipe size, we call it as reducing tee. Buttwelding tee is widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, power plant other industrial pipelines. The common used material are carbon steel A234 WPB stainless steel 316.

What is ASME B16.9?
ASME B16.9 standard covers overall dimensions, tolerances, ratings, testing, markings for factory-made wrought buttwelding fittings in sizes NPS 1 ∕ 2 through NPS 48 (DN 15 through DN 1200). It covers fittings of any producible wall thickness.
Buttwelding fittings are used in a piping system to change direction function of media, to branch off, reduce pipe size attach auxiliary equipment. They are availbale in multiple types as elbow, tee, cap, reducer, stub end oelt, that produced in cold hot forming based on ASTM A403 ASTM A234 specification.
ASTM A403 WP304 & WP316 Stainless Steel Fittings Specificaiton
304 & 316 stainles steel buttweld fittings are designed in ASTM A403 WP Grades based on ASME MSS standard dimensions. They could be seamless welded type.
ASTM A403 specification covers shapes of stainless steel pipe elbow, tee, cross, reducer cap. They have different function in the piping system widely used to weld on the pipe fittings.
ASTM A234 WPB Carbon Steel Pipe Fittings Specification
ASTM A234 WPB is the most common representive grade in carbon steel pipe fittings. We manufacture them in types of semaless welded according to standard of ASME B16.9 & MSS-SP-43. These buttwelding fittings are for use in pressure piping in pressure vessel fabrication for service at moderate elevated temperatures.

Notes
1) Besides the above mentioned standards, the standards of GB/T 10752 SH 3408 SH 3409 HG/T 21635 HG/T 21631 SY/T 0510 DL/T 695 EN 10253 etc.are also applied.
2) For the straight tees with DN≥650(NPS 26) the reducing tees with DN≥350(NPS 14 , the outlet sizes are recommended to use (that mean the other sizes may be applied).
3) For the tees crosses with the sizes larger than that listed in the above table,they will be supplied subject to the sized agreed by purchaser manufacturer according to manufacturer's size.
