Threaded elbow: A pipe fitting used to change the direction of a pipe. The curvature radius of all elbows R≤3D, the most used R=1.5D long radius elbow R=1D short radius elbow. Common angles are 90°, 45°, 30°, 180°. Reducing elbows (that is, the connection to the reducing pipe is achieved while changing the direction of the pipe) are sometimes used in small quantities, threaded elbows are produced according to GB/T 14383 ASME 16.11 production standards.
Threaded pipe fittings are pipe fittings with threads, made of stainless steel, alloy steel, carbon steel other materials, suitable for each pipe connection. Threaded pipe fittings can be subdivided into more than a dozen types, covering a variety of forms such as straight connection curved connection, including threaded elbow, threaded four, threaded three, threaded pipe hoop, threaded cap, threaded joint, threaded nipple, reducing nipple, hexagonal outer wire, threaded pipe plug, threaded core.
What is the standard for threaded fittings?
GB is an international standard ASME MSS are American standards.
GB/T 14383: This standard specifies the dimensions, materials, manufacturing, inspection, testing marking of forged socket welding threaded pipe fittings, as well as the supply content. Socket welding threaded fittings are usually manufactured using forged metal materials of nominal size greater than DN100 in industrial piping systems.
ASME B16.11: This standard specifies the pressure temperature ratings, dimensions, tolerances, standards materials of welded threaded pipe fittings. Manufacturers buyers can coordinate the manufacture of forged rolled pipe fittings of special sizes, shapes, etc. Guidelines for the selection of pipe fitting types materials suitable for specific fluid use fall outside the scope of this standard.
